1. What is the main difference between LaserPecker LP3 and LaserPecker LP2?

Although both the LP2 and LP3 are small, portable laser engravers, the main difference lies in their laser source and the materials they can process.

The LaserPecker LP2 uses a blue diode laser, while the LP3 features an infrared laser, making it a true IR laser engraver.

2. What materials can LaserPecker LP3 engrave?

As a laser engraver for metal and plastic, the LaserPecker LP3 can mark almost all pure metals and alloys—including gold, silver, copper, aluminum, iron, titanium, and stainless steel—as well as plastics like acrylic, ABS, and PVC.

It can also engrave materials like faux leather. However, the LP3 cannot engrave on wood or bamboo

Impressive power

Using this to engrave business merch, price tags, business cards, etc. Pretty impressive performance and power. Optics need to be cleaned more frequently than expected as laser has been bouncing after particle build up. Must also be perfectly level for best results. Wish there was more accessible literature for maintenance and support.

Worked pretty much as described

The machine was fairly intuitive to learn to use even for a novice. It worked well on the blanks provided. I was able to upload images and engrave them with the laser. Overall the machine has a high quality look and feel. The one con was it indicates you can use it to engrave silver but machine had no setting for this only aluminum and copper. I was able to engrave something silver on highest setting but it was not very deep even after multiple runs. While it was easy to figure it out, more walk through instructions and instructions for how to use on various materials would be useful. There is some information online but only the basics.

This is a fantastic piece of equipment for engraving metal, faux leather and plastic (some pieces are included to kick start your projects).
However. The instructions are abysmal. Unboxing and putting it together is simple and completely intuitive, but they do provide information on how to do that. What the company doesn't provide in any useful form is how to actually use it.
I downloaded the app to my Android. Easy. I found that taking my photos and turning them into something that could be etched, easy. They weren't clear about it, but if you've ever used any graphics software, it's not complicated. Focusing the beam, easy. But where do I put the piece so that it's aligned properly? Got me.
A tool like this that most people (such as myself) have never used needs to come with instructions that a child could understand. Step-by-step, every obvious step. Include it all clearly and concisely so the end user can make the most of this awesome machine. I'll sort it out. I've already wasted a lot of pieces doing trying to do a simple graphic logo, but I wouldn't have if there'd been useful instructions.
